On World Food Day, we want to take a moment to highlight an amazing example of a community coming together and rising above the difficulties it faces. The town of Masi Manimba is 250 miles from the capital city of Kinshasa in the DRC, and until recently, acute malnutrition was rampant throughout the town. British aid agency DFID sent an Action Against Hunger emergency team to work in the region for three months, and our team stayed on an additional 8 months. For the past year, however, the community has taken what it learned from our trainings and implemented the knowledge in an extraordinary fashion - and they've learned that by coming together and working as a unit, they're able to achieve far greater results than if each household had worked alone. Check out a short video below explaining just how they've overcome their challenges, and take a moment to read the full case study.
